Title: From RAAGs to Twisted RAAGs: Extending Droms' Theorems

Abstract: Right-angled Artin groups (RAAGs) play a significant role in bridging combinatorics and group theory, as the structure of a group is determined by its defining graph. Twisted right-angled Artin groups (T-RAAGs), extend this idea by introducing directed edges, allowing us to encode both commutation and certain “twisted” relations. In this talk, based on joint work with Simone Blumer and Claudio Quadrelli, we show how the classical theorems of Droms for RAAGs can be extended to this broader setting. We describe precisely which T-RAAGs have all finitely generated subgroups that are again T-RAAGs, provide a graph-theoretic characterization of when these groups are coherent, and solve the isomorphism problem for an important subclass.
