The Department of Mathematics and Applications promotes research in the main disciplines of mathematics, producing publications of high scientific impact every year.

Through its section of the National Institute of High Mathematics (INdAM) it supports mathematical culture in Italy and promotes national and European research projects.

The Department also organises several Seminar Cycles with national and international speakers, promoting not only interaction between young mathematicians but also the sharing of research topics, fostering scientific collaborations.
