Departmental Quality Assurance System (SQA)

Quality Assurance (QA) is the process through which universities achieve continuous improvement objectives through monitoring and self-assessment of their educational offerings, research, and the Third and Fourth Mission.

The University adopts a Quality Assurance System (SQA) which operates at multiple levels and through various committees in the areas of Edication, Research, and the Third and Fourth Mission. The SQA aims to promote the monitoring of results over time, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions based on the tools provided by the AVA system (Self-assessment, Accreditation and Evaluation of the Italian university system).

The functioning of the SQA is described on the pages dedicated to Quality Assurance on the University of Milano-Bicocca website, particularly in the section entitled “The University Quality Assurance System”.

To ensure a consistent structure with that of the University, the Departmental Board appoints a Quality Assurance Officer for each area. It also appoints a representative within the Quality Assurance Committee (PQA), one for the Education Branch and one for the Research Branch.
