PhD Programme Quality Assurance

The functioning of the University’s Quality Assurance (QA) System in relation to PhD Programmes is described on the page dedicated to Quality Assurance on the University of Milano-Bicocca website.

In line with the proposals of the University’s PhD School, the monitoring of the quality of the PhD Programme is entrusted to the PhD Programme’s QA Group.
The PhD Programme’s QA Group works in constant consultation with the various members of the Programme (Board, Students and Stakeholders) and is composed of at least the following: PhD Programme Coordinator, PhD Programme Quality Assurance Officer and PhD Student Representative.
Each PhD programme appoints a PhD Programme Quality Assurance Officer to support the Coordinator in the planning and monitoring of the programme.

The PhD Programme’s QA Group is responsible for:

  • drafting the Planning and Organisation Document for educational and research activities;
  • drafting the Annual Report;
  • monitoring the progress of PhD students, their opinions on educational and research activities, their satisfaction upon completion of the programme, and their employment status in the years that follow;
  • verifying, through regular meetings with representatives from the world of work, the alignment between the proposed training activities and employment demands;
  • contributing to the drafting of the Triennial Review.

Following the activities described above, the PhD Programme’s QA Group is responsible for defining any corrective actions or improvements and proposing them to the PhD Board and the Department for approval and implementation.

Below is the composition of the QA Group for the PhD Programme of the Department of Mathematics and Applications.

The Department of Mathematics and Applications is involved in the Consortium PhD Programme in Mathematics, coordinated by a consortium composed of the University of Milano-Bicocca, the University of Pavia, the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart and INdAM.
