Wednesday 12 February 2025 at 4:30 pm (CET), as part of the Insalate di Matematica seminar cycle, Marco Barbieri (University of Pavia) will talk about
Title: Permutations, algorithms, probability
Abstract: In this talk, we will explore how, over the past 70 years, the theory of finite permutation groups has been influenced by probabilistic approaches – with a particular focus on non-deterministic algorithms in computational group theory.
Keywords: Permutation groups, Computational Group Theory, Product Replacement Algorithm
