Titolo: Discrete Distributions and Their Moment Determinacy
Abstract: Any discrete distribution with finite all moments is either unique (M-determinate), or non-unique (M-indeterminate). We will discuss criteria for both by presenting the best known classical and recent results.
Illustrations will involve discrete distributions which are widely used not only in theory but also in statistical practice. Intriguing open questions will be outlined. The talk will be addressed to statisticians and mathematicians: graduate students, MSc and PhD, young researchers and established scientists.
