Maths Circles are sessions for students interested in mathematics, organised at the University of Milano-Bicocca in collaboration with We Solve Problems.

The initiative is primarily aimed at students in lower secondary school and the first two years of upper secondary school and offers a different way of doing mathematics from ordinary classroom activities: tackling problems, exploring strategies, formulating conjectures, discussing ideas and working together to find solutions.

Maths Circles are not a competition-preparation course and are not intended only for students who are already particularly strong in mathematics. More generally, they are aimed at curious and motivated students who enjoy engaging with mathematical problems, without requiring any specific prior preparation.

The aim is to develop mathematical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to explain and discuss ideas rigorously, in an informal and collaborative environment.
